A NEW activity and bike park in Hanover Park has received planning approval. The development will include a mountain bike pump track, mini-basketball court, biodiversity garden, new lighting and picnic tables, accessible footpaths and an accessible car park for up to four vehicles.
Plans were submitted by Carlow County Council to An Bord Pleanála, which recently gave the green light to the proposal.
In its application, the council stated that the works were “justified as they would provide a fully accessible multi-activity facility within the town centre, along the banks of the River Burren, which would stimulate economic growth in response to the greater influx of people, users, locals and tourists”.
