Category: Community First Responders

Community First Responders are established and establishing across the County.

In all cases CFR groups are all volunteers who come from various backgrounds and are trained to attend certain types of emergency calls within a specific radius.

All CFR members are Garda vetted and attend intensive training over a period of months in order to respond to specific emergency calls.

Their aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency such as a Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack, Choking or Stroke in the first vital minutes while the Ambulance is en route. They are there to stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care including defibrillation until the highly skilled members of the National Ambulance Service take over treatment and transport the patient to hospital.

As voluntary organisations in our community, the CFR groups across the county rely on your generous donations, no matter how big or small. Contact your local CFR Group for Further Details
