Carlow Live and Local was initiated under the Live Performance Scheme managed by Carlow County Council Arts Office since 2021. With vision and supports needed for our local musicians, Carlow Arts Office with the support of the Council secured a budget to continue this scheme now fondly known locally as Carlow Live and Local.

With special thanks to Walter Hennessey and Fiach Moriarty who curate the event, all performing musicians and to Carlow Arts Festival for hosting the event.

This year’s Carlow Live and Local line-up is more diverse than ever, boasting two stages inside the O’Hara’s Big Top, with an array of local favourites and emerging new talent performing. This year’s festival also sees the introduction of Cobden Hall Sessions added to the programme which will feature a collection of intimate and immersive performances. With over 30 diverse acts all hailing from Co. Carlow, this is a fantastic opportunity to show support to the phenomenal musicality in the area.

Arts Officer Sinead Dowling says “We are delighted to continue these supports for local musicians. We believe so firmly in providing a performance outlet for local artists and Carlow Live and Local is an opportunity for local artists to professionally develop their musical careers.”

Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council, Cllr. Andrea Dalton says “ It is so important to support local musicians performing in County Carlow and Carlow Live and Local is the perfect avenue in which to do so. It is wonderful to see so much talent in the County, that there is a full 3-day programme of local music by local musicians being presented at this year’s Carlow Arts Festival”
