Registrations are open for An Taisce National Spring Clean 2026!
Now running for over 25 years and with over 5,400 groups registering to take part nationally in 2025, and over 100 groups and schools registering from County Carlow alone, this is Ireland’s largest anti-litter campaign which runs through the whole month of April.
Taking part in the National Spring Clean is straight forward. Organise a clean-up to take place any time during April, then register your event online with An Taisce. The clean-up kit will be sent to you containing colour coded bags to help collect recycled items and general waste, some tabards and gloves whilst stocks allow, along with tips on how to hold a successful event.
Once you have a firm date in mind during April and the clean-up is taking place in County Carlow, call Environment on 059 9136231 or contact environment@carlowcoco.ie who will arrange for free rubbish disposal after your clean-up.
Guidelines for safe clean-ups by volunteers can be found on the An Taisce National Spring Clean Website, with An Taisce providing Third Party Public Liability for all groups and schools that register for the annual Spring Clean event.
If you’re not in a local group and want to participate, get in touch with your local Tidy Towns team and join up with them for the big clean up.
