Gardaí in Carlow are reminding residents to take simple steps to secure their homes and reduce the risk of burglary. Most burglaries are opportunistic – don’t make it easy for criminals!
Lock Up – Always lock doors and windows, even if you’re just stepping out for a short time. Use Your Alarm (if you have one) – A monitored alarm system is a great deterrent. Ensure it’s set when leaving or going to bed. Light Up – Timer switches on lights can make it look like someone is home. Outdoor security lighting also helps. Keep Valuables Out of Sight – Store cash, jewellery, and car keys in a safe place, not in plain view. Be Alert – Report any suspicious activity in your area to Gardaí immediately.
