Carlow Social Club, is a welcoming and supportive space for people living with dementia, along with their families and carers.
This social club takes place in Bethany House Day Centre, Carlow, and offers a relaxed environment with tea, coffee, music, activities, and, most importantly, connection. It is a safe and inclusive space where people can come together, enjoy themselves, and feel part of their community. Support is also in place for carers, providing an opportunity to take some time, have a chat, and connect with others in a similar situation.
At present, this is the only social club of its kind in Carlow town, and it plays an important role in supporting a more dementia-inclusive community. Our hope is to grow this initiative and, in time, expand it across the county.
Together, we can help ensure that people living with dementia and their loved ones feel supported, included, and connected within their community.
