The Samaritans or Kilkenny and Carlow are currently undertaking a recruitment drive for listening volunteers throughout the area. They are holding an open information evening where people can chat with Samaritan volunteers to discover more about the work they do and how we deliver our listening services.
Information Night
Where: Lamberts Coffee House, 16/17 Dublin Street, CARLOW R93X086
When: Wednesday 26th February from 6 to 8pm
As you may be aware the Samaritans is a volunteer listening and support service for people in need of emotional support. We’re here 24/7 for anyone who’s struggling to cope and needs someone to listen, without judgement or pressure. We answer over 1500 such calls for help every day.
Anyone who wants to help others, is tolerant, open minded and has 3 hours to spare each week is welcome to apply. A comprehensive training programme is provided for all volunteers and the next training in Carlow/Kilkenny will commence in early April.
Further information can be found on Volunteer for Samaritans | Support us | Samaritans where you can also sign up directly to express your interest in becoming a volunteer. Alternatively, please reach out to us directly by emailing Kilkenny@samaritans.org if you need any additional details.
