Muine Bheag Arts is excited to present a new performance work by artist Niamh Seana Meehan. Niamh’s work explores the connection between the body and nature. She will facilitate a collective floatation in the River Barrow. You are invited to join the performance and float together in the river.
Meeting at Bagenalstown Swimming Club at 12pm. Bring your swimwear. Hot drink provided.
You are also welcome to observe the performance from the river bank.
Note: There will be a lifeguard on duty during the performance.
Niamh Seana Meehan is a visual artist based in Ireland. She works across written matter, visual art and performance. Performative activities function as sites where the body gets lost, misunderstood, exhausted and anxious. The accumulation and overlapping of ideas within the practice has provoked a methodological approach of slowing down and lingering with moments of doubtfulness.
Meehan has performed and exhibited both nationally and internationally. Recent projects include: core is concrete, Catalyst Arts, Belfast (2022), Common Interest Residency, UK New Artists, Leicester (2022), PS² Short Residency, Belfast (2021), COMING SOON/NETRUKUS, CCA~Derry~Londonderry DeMo reciprocal residency (2020) and HOUR, Bergen International Performance Festival (2020)
