On the 1st and 2nd of March 2025, the Gaelic Woodland Project are hosting a two-day Meitheal at Lisnavagh House, in celebration of Seachtain na Gaeilge, blending community action, cultural tradition, and ecological restoration.
This event will be conducted entirely through Irish. There is no need for fluency in Irish and there will be translations all throughout the day. This creates a space to connect with our language while actively working to protect our natural heritage. The Meitheal will involve the removal of Cherry Laurel, an invasive species, to restore biodiversity in the area.
Participants will also take part in a biodiversity walk, where they will learn the names of Ireland’s native plant species in Irish, deepening their connection to the language, the land and and its rich ecological tapestry.
